Job Summary

THIS POSITION IS ONLY FOR CURRENTLY CLAYTON STATE STUDENTS WHO QUALIFY FOR FEDERAL WORK STUDY! YOU MUST CHECK WITH FINANCIAL AID TO SEE IF YOU QUALIFY.

Under the direct supervision of the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Student Assistant for Social Media will run and manage the Division's social media accounts. The student assistant will be required to attend various campus events to create social media content to help create student participation and document student engagement on campus. Additionally, the assistant will promote upcoming events and create excitement on campus through social media giveaways and promotions.

Responsibilities

· Take pictures and film of campus activities in progress and upload them to social media accounts.

· Edit the film of activities to be used to promote future activities.

· Meet regularly with the VPSA (Vice President for Student Affairs) to develop a social media strategy.

· Assist with the promotion of upcoming events.

· Coordinate social media engagement activities.

· Provide coverage in the VPSA office when needed.

· Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

· Full-time student majoring in Film Production, Communication Studies, Marketing, or another relevant field with a minimum GPA of 2.5

· Junior, senior, or graduate student.

· Ability to interact positively and professionally with students, faculty, staff, and campus visitors.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills

· Experience with posting to social media (documentation of this is required)

· Ability to evaluate the suitability of interviews based on a provided set of criteria.

· Effective time and workflow management skills


Intermediate knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Teams *Skill in creating, editing, and posting video clips to Division social media accounts *Skill in photography * Skill in writing and producing content for social media.
