Staff Accountant - Banking Industry Construction and Services - Base Salary to 65k/year - Arlington Heights, IL

• Our client provides GC work, facility maintenance services, and equipment to the banking and financial industry, with a focus on Chicago and Midwestern banks. Projects range from remodeling to full ground up construction, as well as bank services and equipment sales. They have been in the business since 1972, and pride themselves on hands-on management and a collaborative, problem solving culture.
• Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant for their team in Arlington Heights. The Staff Accountant maintains the general ledger, analyzes financial data, and prepares financial reports for management. The Staff Accountant also performs project accounting responsibilities for our construction project jobs. 

Responsibilities:

• Month End closing
• Bank reconciliations
• Assist with financial statement preparation and analysis
• Monthly sales tax returns
• Prepares Account Analysis
• Assists Service Department with Equipment reports
• Reviews monthly credit card invoice
• Reviews Job cost reports and reconciles against budget
• Performs job close out procedures
• Identifies opportunities to improve the accounting process
• Develops and maintains positive business relationships with internal and external customers
• Assists in special projects as assigned
• Provides back up support for office Staff as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• 3+ years of accounting related experience
• NetSuite Experience is a plus
• Advanced Excel – vlookups and pivot tables
• Project Accounting experience is a plus

Compensation:

• Base salary up to 65k/year
• Comprehensive medical benefits package
