Position Overview:

Novos Fiber, a leading provider of FTTH (Fiber to the Home) internet services, is seeking a reliable and skilled Smart Hands Technician with specific experience in Nokia technologies to join our team. This role is essential in providing on-site support for our network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance for our customers, and performing traditional central office technician duties. The ideal candidate will combine technical knowledge, problem-solving skills, and collaboration abilities to support both field operations and central office functions.

Key Responsibilities:

On-Site Support: Provide hands-on assistance for network equipment installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance at field locations and data centers.

Central Office Duties: Assist with the installation, configuration, and maintenance of central office equipment, including routers, switches, optical line terminals (OLTs), and other network devices, with a focus on Nokia technologies.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve hardware and connectivity issues efficiently, whether in the field or in the central office, escalating complex problems to the appropriate teams as needed.

Equipment Management: Manage the installation, configuration, and decommissioning of various network devices, ensuring proper functionality and documentation.

Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including equipment changes, service interruptions, and maintenance activities, ensuring all documentation is up to date and accessible.

Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers, NOC personnel, and other internal teams to facilitate smooth operations and ensure minimal downtime.

Inventory Management: Track and manage inventory of network equipment and supplies, ensuring all materials are available for installation and maintenance activities.

Testing and Quality Assurance: Conduct tests on installed equipment to ensure proper functionality and adherence to company standards.

Cable Management: Organize and maintain cabling in central office environments to ensure safety, accessibility, and compliance with best practices.

Emergency Response: Be available for on-call support to address critical issues and ensure service continuity.

Qualifications:

•Strong technical background in networking, including familiarity with FTTH technology, routers, switches, and optical networks.

•Specific experience with Nokia equipment and technologies is required.

•Experience in a similar technician role, ideally within an ISP or telecommunications environment.

•Knowledge of central office operations, including experience with equipment installation and maintenance.

•Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently.

•Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.

•Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

•Willingness to be on-call for emergency support as needed.

•A valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to customer sites.
