We are seeking a Senior Tax Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This position will play a key role in managing and coordinating tax strategy and compliance for our company. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and analyzing tax records and reports, processing tax payments, maintaining tax records, and advising management regarding the tax impact of various corporate strategies. This is a high-visibility role with significant impact on our business operations.
Responsibilities:
1. Prepare and review corporate, individual, and partnership tax returns.
2. Manage tax provision and tax compliance process.
3. Improve processes by developing or implementing best practices.
4. Manage and coordinate tax audits.
5. Prepare tax returns and calculate tax provisions for financial statements.
6. Advise management on the impact of new laws on tax liabilities.
7. Coordinate accounting staff and assess their performance.
8. Assist in planning and executing corporate tax strategies.
9. Develop tax analysis for senior management on various strategic initiatives.
10. Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
11. Collaborate with external auditors and HR departments.
12. Prepare accurate quarterly and annual tax reports.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree in Taxation is a plus.
2. Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
3. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a tax manager or public accountant role.
4. Strong knowledge of tax code, compliance and procedures for corporations.
5. Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
6. Strong proficiency in MS Office and accounting software.
7. In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
8. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
9. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
10. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
11. Strong attention to detail with an ability to work independently and as part of a team.
12. Exceptional client service along with the ability to develop excellent client relationships.
13. Strong leadership and personnel management skills.
14. Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving.
