Job Description
The Red Hat North America Deal Management organization is looking for a Senior Deal Manager to join our Public Sector team. The Senior Deal Manager is responsible for ensuring all required deal components are completed as specified to customer requirements and Red Hat submission standards. The Senior Deal Manager creates and manages the deal development plan and is responsible for assessing and prioritizing deal preparation activities within the Deal Management team such as solution planning sessions, collating internal stakeholders' inputs, reviews, approval, establishing project timelines, and communicating project details to the relevant internal stakeholders. This role facilitates collaboration by scheduling and conducting deal development meetings with appropriate cross-functional stakeholders as needed (such as Sales, Services, Operations, Legal and Finance) to produce a comprehensive deal package for Sales to present and close with the customer. The Senior Deal Manager leverages industry and cross-functional organizational knowledge to ensure deal construction practices are aligned with corporate policies, programs, and systems. This role maintains ongoing communication with customers, Sales and other geographically dispersed internal stakeholders to promote communication and understanding throughout the deal lifecycle.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform a comprehensive deal requirements analysis and design deal plan to engage all relevant stakeholder organizations and Deal Management resources to deliver a comprehensive and customer-focused deal package which demonstrates the overall customer value proposition
- Collaborate proactively with internal teams to serve as a partner, trusted adviser, and advocate for the Sales and Services teams on deal management planning activities essential for creating a completed deal package for customer acceptance and signature
- Establish and monitor ongoing progress and completions of deliverables while proactively tracking and informing stakeholders of requirements and timeline changes
- Establish trusted working relationships and collaborate with Red Hat stakeholder teams impacted by non-standard or complex deals, specifically Sales and Commercial Legal, Finance, Sales Operations, Product Management, Product Marketing, Consulting, and Global Support Services teams
- Schedule and lead internal deal-related stakeholder meetings to support the deal development lifecycle (e.g. progress reviews, deal design and solution session, stakeholder approval discussions, troubleshooting, and escalation resolutions)
- Leverage Deal Management frameworks and enforce the corporate policies and systems usage and approval frameworks and associated policies to ensure best deal outcomes
- Perform DocuSign oversight for required signature
Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years years of related deal management experience working in a high impact, dynamic, results-based execution or similar environment. Public Sector experience is a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in technical, financial, operational or related field
- Highly skilled in bid/project management methodologies (e.g. Shipley, APMP, PMI) including deep understanding of Specialization
- Knowledge of business management areas contributing to successful deal outcomes such as sales, deal desk, deal negotiations, sales operations, order processing, fulfillment, revenue recognition, legal contracts, purchase orders, and license agreements
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and meeting management skills (written, verbal, presentation, negotiation and diplomacy), and ability to engage across all levels of management, teams, and customers
- Ability to manage, prioritize, make decisions and deliver multiple assignments with detail and precision while addressing ambiguity, changing conditions, and moving deadlines
- Requires ability to deal with ambiguity and the corresponding capacity to make decisions or recommendations based on potentially incomplete information
- Willingness and availability to travel, including to customers on a per need basis
- Fluent language skills in English, Spanish and/or Portuguese is a plus.
The salary range for this position is $83,840.00 - $134,150.00. Actual offer will be based on your qualifications.
Pay Transparency Red Hat determines compensation based on several factors including but not limited to job location, experience, applicable skills and training, external market value, and internal pay equity. Annual salary is one component of Red Hat's compensation package. This position may also be eligible for bonus, commission, and/or equity. For positions with Remote-US locations, the actual salary range for the position may differ based on location but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
