Under the general direction of the Deputy Director (CEA A), in the Research and Evaluation Office of First 5 California (F5CA), the Research Scientist II (RS 11) is responsible for designing and implementing major complex research and evaluation projects, with an emphasis on F5CA investments shaped by the Strategic Plan. The RS II develops and oversees all aspects of related research, evaluation, and data including contracted projects, and is responsible for data analysis, data presentation and visualizations, and briefings between F5CA executives and stakeholders (First 5 county commissions, and public and private institutions/agencies).

This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code.  The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests.  The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment and once per year.
