GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Paralegal plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive legal and administrative support to the Director of Legal and compliance, Corporate Counsel, and the Legal department. Responsibilities extend to overseeing the day-to-day operations of the legal department, involving tasks such as researching and staying updated on regulatory filings to ensure compliance with applicable laws, assists in drafting and reviewing legal documents. The role involves meticulous attention to detail, organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of the legal landscape to contribute to the smooth functioning of the company's legal and compliance efforts.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:
Assist the Director of Legal & Compliance and Corporate Counsel in legal research, document drafting, and the preparation of legal correspondence.
Maintain organized legal files, documents, and databases, ensuring easy retrieval and accessibility for the legal team.
Provide administrative support to the legal department, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and document preparation.
Assist in operational duties related to titling processes, including researching, and verifying title requirements.
Collaborate with the legal team to ensure adherence to corporate compliance standards and policies.
Stay informed about changes in laws and regulations relevant to the company's operations.
Support the legal team in researching and understanding compliance requirements specific to the industry.
Assist in the development, review, and maintenance of compliance manuals and internal policies.
Support compliance efforts by conducting regular audits and assessments as directed by the legal team.
Assist in the review, organization, and management of contracts, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Collaborate with the legal team to track contract deadlines and renewals, providing timely reminders as needed.
Support the legal team in managing and ensuring the maintenance of all state and federal licensing requirements.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and increased operational efficiency within the legal department.
Collaborate with external counsel and other legal service providers as directed.
Assist in the preparation of reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
Demonstrated attention to detail, reliability, and ability to learn new technology.
Excellent consumer service skills and ability to work on matters simultaneously in an organized manner and under minimal supervision.
EDUCATION and/or WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree or 3-5 years of experience preferred.
Paralegal Certificate and/or notary qualifications preferred.
Strong understanding of contracts, compliance, insurance, & privacy laws.
Excellent written and oral communication, and problem-solving skills.
Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.Pay: $62,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
