About the Role
The Company is seeking an Interim Executive Director to lead the organization during a critical transition period. The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall management of the nonprofit, including its operations, programs, and administration. Key responsibilities for the Interim Executive Director include providing strategic guidance, managing staff, overseeing daily operations, supervising program directors, financial management, leading fundraising efforts, and engaging with the Board of Directors and various stakeholders. The ideal candidate should have at least 5 years' of experience in philanthropic management, a proven track record in a senior leadership role, and a passion for environmental justice and biodiversity conservation. Applicants for the Interim Executive Director position at the company should possess excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, and a strategic mindset to implement and evaluate plans for the organization's long-term success. A Bachelor's degree is required, with an advanced degree in a related field preferred. The role demands a collaborative and inclusive leadership style, with a focus on fostering a diverse and equitable workplace culture. The Interim Executive Director will also be involved in transition planning, ensuring a smooth handover to the permanent Executive Director. This is a temporary, full-time, contracted position, expected to last 6 to 12 months, and the candidate must be located in or willing to temporarily relocate to the Greater Birmingham area.
