Position: Front of House Shift Lead
Job Summary: The Front of House Shift Lead position is the point person for service staff on several fronts. They work with management to interact with customers and ensure theyre receiving quality service. This role requires someone with leadership skills and coordinates details to maintain consistent service levels.
Essential Tasks and Responsibilities:
Maintain a positive attitude, smile and greet customers.
Provide excellent customer service to guests and help resolve any customer issues.
Prepare front of house team members at the start of each shift with regards to station assignments, ensuring stations are stocked for service, and inform staff of menu changes.
Train new Front of House team members on their job tasks and responsibilities.
Ensure staff on duty are properly trained and adhere to the cashier policy
Responsible for cash handling, safe verifications and daily deposits
Have extensive job knowledge using our Point of Sale (POS) system, Toast.
Check identification of guests to ensure guests are of legal age to consume alcoholic beverages. Refuse to serve beverages in a polite manner to guests who are not of legal age.
Provide intervention assistance when servers observe guests behaviors while consuming alcoholic beverages and ensure their safety.
Convey cash handling procedures to servers and ensure all cash handling procedures are followed.
Must have product knowledge to effectively service the customer and answer questions about menu item.
Understand the proper use of and storage of chemicals used in the location. Be familiar with the chemical SDS book and its contents.
Report all injuries immediately to your manager/supervisor
Additional Job Functions:
Cross-train in other areas as required by your manager
Work in other areas or departments as needed
Completion of any task requested by a supervisor or member of the management team.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position oversees front of house servers.
Required Qualifications:
Possess leaderships skills
Good interpersonal communication skills
Excellent Customer Service Skills
Ability to work in a team environment
Must be able to balance and carry multiple food and beverages to and from dining area
Well-groomed and role appropriate attire
Desired Qualifications:
1-year lead wait staff experience
Ability to carry at least 4 meals on a tray at any given time
TIPS Certified
ServSafe Manager Certified
Work Environment:
This position operates in a restaurant setting. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. The employee may be exposed to hazards including, but are not limited to, cuts, slipping, tripping, falls and burns. Frequent hand washing is required.
