We are seeking a skilled and experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with a minimum of 4 years of experience to join our dynamic IT team. As a DBA, you will be responsible for the installation, configuration, maintenance, and performance tuning of our database systems. You will work closely with various teams to ensure data availability, integrity, and security.
What you'll be doing: - Requirements Analysis: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and analyze database requirements, ensuring alignment with business objectives
- Database Design: Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable database architectures and schemas
- Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and upgrade database servers and related application tools
- Performance Tuning: Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required
- Backup and Recovery: Develop, implement, and test database backup and recovery plans to ensure data integrity and availability
- Security: Implement database security measures, including user access controls and data encryption, to protect sensitive information
- Data Integration: Facilitate data integration from various sources into our databases, ensuring data consistency and quality
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, providing support to end-users and colleague
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and organizational policies
Requirements
Who you are: - Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience as a Database Administrator
- Proficiency in database management systems (DBMS) such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
- Experience with database design, data modeling, and performance tuning
- Strong knowledge of backup and recovery procedures, as well as security measures
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented environment
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with cloud-based database services (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database)
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation tasks
- Certification in database management (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator)
This is a hybrid role with a requirement of three days in office and two days working from home per week, which may be reassessed after successfully completing 90 days of employment
