Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Identify research funding opportunities.

- Assist with writing research proposals.

- Organize research projects.

- Mentor graduate research students and supervise undergraduate student workers.

- Prepare project reports for funding agencies.

- Assist with manuscript preparation and submission.

- Disseminate research results to external constituents by assisting with industry workshops and training.

- Present research data at professional meetings.

- May teach or co-teach ANSC 667 - Industrial Processed Meat Operations or other courses as needed.

- Other job-related duties as required.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

- PhD degree or combination of experience and education.

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

- PhD in Animal Science, Food Science, or Meat Science.

- 3 years progressively responsible experience with project oversight.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

- Effective written and oral communication skills.

- Ability to work effectively on teams.

- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.

- Ability to consistently use discretion and independent judgement

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

- Advanced level of knowledge in meat science, biochemistry and project design,

including statistics.
